About
Dr. Monon Mahboob joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at BUET in 2010. Prior to joining BUET, he completed his PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at The Ohio State University, where he conducted research on polymer nanocomposites and smart electromagnetic materials for one of US’s largest and highest ranked engineering programs.
He has been involved in multi-disciplinary research for over a decade. His core area of interest lies in the area of nano materials characterization, with an emphasis on modeling process induced anisotropy. He has been involved in the study of carbon nanotube (CNT)s, Carbon nanofiber composites, and magnetorheological dampers. He has conducted research as part of groups funded by a host of organizations including the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Air Force Research Laboratory and CASR.
His research has been widely published and cited at high impact factor journals including: Journal of Rheology, Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures, Polymer Composites, Journal of Applied Polymer Science, Journal of Fluids Engineering, Computational Materials Science etc.
He accumulated a list of awards from OSU and other international institutes, including the Ray Award for Scholarship and Service, the Mary Louise Imrie Award.
